Jazz Orchestra
Our Lakeside Pride Jazz Orchestra interprets retro classics from the roaring ’20s, swinging ’30s, ’40s bebop, ’50s Sinatra, ’60s Bossa Nova, ’70s soul, ’80s fusion, ’90s rock, and ’00s pop. The band and its constellation of chamber ensembles perform regularly throughout Chicago at the Center on Halsted, local bars, Adler Planetarium, and in support of LGBTQ gala events and receptions. Release your inhibitions and come hang with the hippest cats around!
The Orchestra’s recognition as a purveyor of fine music has led to recent performances including the Adler Planetarium’s Adler After Dark Series, the Chicago History Museum, and several summer festivals.
Our season runs year ’round, with rehearsals varying throughout the week based on upcoming performances. Rehearsals are typically at Center on Halsted, 3656 N. Halsted St, Chicago. The show schedule for the jazz orchestra evolves through the year and is communicated to members via email list.
All members and friends of the LGBTQ community are welcome to perform with us.
