Return to Band

"We're Back" text graphic

It’s been too long since we’ve gathered together to create music and community. With vaccination rates increasing and COVID rates decreasing it’s time to start planning our return!

We’ve compiled each ensemble’s rehearsal cadence, start dates, and performance dates in one place so you can arrange your schedule. To make sure you’re getting ensemble updates about the groups you’d like to participate in, contact the corresponding email address.

COVID SAFETY

The health and safety of our community is our number one priority. We will not gather if we cannot do so safely. However, public health experts agree we have reached a point in the pandemic where, when appropriate precautions are taken, gathering to make music is sufficiently low-risk.

Our ensembles vary in size and instrumentation. Each rehearsal venue is laid out differently and has a different ventilation system. Some of our rehearsal venues have specific COVID protocols we must adhere to. COVID guidelines continue to evolve. It is therefore difficult for us to publish and maintain COVID protocols on this page.

Each ensemble communicates their COVID expectations with their members before rehearsals begin and, as best practices and expectations evolve, relays those updated expectations. If you have specific questions about COVID protocols, members@lakesidepride.org is ready to answer them.

One thing is certain: Health experts, community leaders, and Lakeside Pride agree that the best way to be minimize risk and to end the pandemic is to get vaccinated. If you need to arrange a vaccination, Howard Brown Heath, AHF, and the Chicago Department of Public Health are all offering easy-to-schedule or walk-in appointments. Other providers and sites can be located on the CDC’s Vaccines.gov.
