Symphonic Band’s Autumn Awakening

Lakeside Pride's Autumn Awakening promotional artwork

Ending our year-long hiatus, the Lakeside Pride Symphonic Band debuts our fall performance and marks our musical family’s “silver anniversary” 25th season!  We’ve been eager to refocus on community music making and are excited to finally share that joy with you again.  If there’s one silver lining to find in our being apart it’s that our being together again will be all the more special!  We’ve prepared pieces from the Father of Blues W. C. Handy, contemporary composer Quincy Hilliard, prodigy Naoya Wada, and others from across the symphonic band spectrum to mark the occasion.  Join us as we restart at this new beginning for the old reasons we fell in love with each other years ago!

About This Season
Lakeside Pride Music Ensembles presents its 25th anniversary season “Silver Linings.”  Founded in 1997, the musicians of Lakeside Pride built a chosen family at a time when acceptance and rights for LGBTQ people looked very different than they do today.  Through rough times and good, we’ve found joy in unexpected silver linings.
