Jazz Orchestra Gig: Mainbocher’s Birthday Party at the Chicago History Museum for the USO

Calling all dishes, swabbies, rugcutters, and pinups—celebrate the birthday of Main Rousseau Bocher with us, 1940s style! To pay homage to Bocher’s military background and WWII uniform designs, we’re hosting a USO dance. Founded in 1941 and still operating today, the United Service Organizations provide lively entertainment and a taste of home to troops serving abroad. The evening includes tours of Making Mainbocher with costume curator Petra Slinkard, refreshments, birthday cake, and music by the Lakeside Pride jazz orchestra. Vintage uniforms and attire encouraged. Cash bar available.

Cost: $15 members, $25 guests, price includes one drink ticket.

Tickets available from the Chicago History Museum.
