Faulty Systems V: Speaking Out
About this Event
“Faulty Systems” is an annual multidisciplinary event which brings together both artists and community activists, organized around a specific social issue. This year, our queer-led organization is finally doing an event which highlights the joys and traumas of the LGBTQ community. This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this event will be streamed online to audiences. Featuring an opening speech by Chicago Alderwoman and local queer icon Maria Hadden, our other collaborators this year include YEPP (Youth Empowerment Performance Project), Sky Cubacub (founder of Rebirth Garments), Andersonville Psychology, and Lakeside Pride. As part of the event, Thompson Street Opera Company will present the world premiere of a 10-minute opera about the Pulse Nightclub shooting: these wings are meant to fly by Steven Serpa.
This event is FREE, though we encourage donations to be made to queer health organizations in the amount of a ticket.
