Bands Across The Water: Lakeside Pride presents the London Gay Symphonic Winds World Tour
August 24, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm$15
Lakeside Pride is thrilled to kick off our 2019-2020 season with a spectacular international collaboration!
Our sibling music group the London Gay Symphonic Winds (LGSW) have made their way across the pond with an eclectic selection of music from Welsh folksong to Lady Gaga.
Along with many of our very own Lakeside Pride musicians, LGSW performers will fly you around the world with an instrumental story of lands near and far.
Join us for this one-night-only performance on Saturday, August 24th!
- Percussion typical of symphonic ensembles will be used. There will not be pyrotechnics, strobe lights, or smoke effects.
- Wheelchairs have a flat path from the sidewalk to the main floor of the theater where there is wheelchair accessible seating. There is an elevator to the second floor but second floor seating is not wheelchair accessible.
- Wheelchair accessible and all-gender restrooms are located on the main floor. Restroom signs are marked with braille.
- Programming is presented in English. Sign language interpretation is not provided.
Other accessibility questions can be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org. We will make every effort to accommodate needs and incorporate requests in future events.
About Lakeside Pride
Lakeside Pride Music Ensembles is Chicago’s premier family of performance groups for members and friends of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) community. Home to three major ensembles – Jazz Orchestra, Marching Band, and Symphonic Band – plus over a dozen chamber ensembles, the organization offers a diverse musical experience for both its audience and members.
About London Gay Symphonic Winds
The London Gay Symphonic Winds are London’s only symphonic wind band from and for the LGBT communities in London. Their musical aim is to be both fun and challenging. They want to encourage improving musicianship in an enjoyable and supporting environment. They play a wide variety of music to suit their diversity, including band classics, orchestral arrangements, show tunes, and, of course, the odd bit of Abba and Madonna.
